What Is Your Why?

What Is Your Why?

Find your “why.” The “why” is your motivation for establishing and reaching the goals that you hope to achieve in the Faith FiT Life. It’s what will ultimately determine your success, so it is important to dig deep. Your “why” can be a number

Training a Baby Elephant

Training a Baby Elephant

How do they keep an elephant from breaking free?

It’s because when the elephant is a baby, its trainers used a chain tied around its leg and the other end of the chain is tied to a metal stake on the ground. The chain and peg were strong enough for the baby elephant. When it tried to break away, the metal chain would pull it back. Sometimes, tempted by the world it could see in the distance, the elephant would pull harder. But the chain would cut into the skin on the elephant’s leg, making it bleed, creating a wound that would hurt the baby elephant even more. Soon, the baby elephant realized it was futile trying to escape. It stopped trying !

And now when the big circus elephant is tied by a chain around its leg, it remembers the pain it felt as a baby. And it does not try to break away. So even though it’s just a chain and a little wooden peg, the elephant stands still. It remembers its limitations, and knows that it can only move as much as the chain will allow. It does not matter that the metal stake has been replaced by a wooden peg. It does not matter that the 200-pound baby is now several tons powerhouse. However, the elephant’s belief prevails.

In life, there are many things that keep us from following the Faith FiT Life.  We convince ourselves that we can’t do something because we have failed once before.  That’s the chain that keeps us tied.  I can’t eat healthy or juice, how can I have investments of my money when I am in debt, I can’t get to my training , I don’t have time to read my Bible, and it goes on. (In reality theses are all chains)  They keep us from growing into the person that we are meant to become. We must remember that “we are more than conquerors”  and that “we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us” (Refer to the David and Goliath post)  Listen to the song  Praise the Lord by the Imperials.

The Inversion Table – Hanging Upside-Down

The inversion table is something some health professionals may recommend because  it provides a traction force that decompresses the spinal discs. With regular use, symptoms from spinal conditions like disc herniation’s, spinal stenosis, and degeneration can improve.  I have included a link for you to

Bad Foods

Junk food is a pejorative term for cheap food containing high levels of calories from sugar or fat with little fiber, protein, vitamins or minerals. Junk food can also refer to high protein food like meat prepared with saturated fat – which some believe may be unhealthy, although some studies have shown no correlation between saturated fat and cardiovascular

What Not To Eat

What Not To Eat

What Not To Eat

I Corinthians 10:23 says: Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial.

You are free to eat but within the choices we make in our eating there are consequences.

Things not to eat:

  • Sugar
  • Soda
  • Bleached Flour
  • Dairy Products
  • Minimize meats (including chicken and fish)
  • Refined oils

A plant-based diet is a diet based on foods from plants, including vegetables, whole grains, legumes and fruits, but with few or no animal products. Building healthy eating habits isn’t as confusing or as restrictive as many people think. The basic steps are to eat foods from plants—vegetables, fruits, whole grains and legumes (beans, peas, lentils)—and limit highly processed foods.

Here are a few suggestions for building a healthy diet:

  • Prepare more of your own meals. Cooking more meals at home can help you take charge of what you’re eating and better control what goes into your food.
  • Make the right changes. When cutting back on unhealthy foods in your diet, it’s important to replace them with healthy alternatives.
  • Simplify. When eating plant-based or juicing your shopping will be easier. Your vegetables and fruits think of in terms of color, variety, and freshness.  Stay away from packaged and processed foods and opt for fresh ingredients.
  • Read the labels. It’s important to be aware of what’s in your food as manufacturers often hide large amounts of sugar or unhealthy fats in packaged food, even food claiming to be “healthy”.
  • Focus on how you feel after eating. This will help foster healthy new habits and tastes. The healthier the food you eat, the better you’ll feel after a meal. The more junk food you eat, the more likely you are to feel uncomfortable, nauseous, or drained of energy.

  • Drink plenty of water and or Coconut Water. Water flushes our systems of waste and toxins, yet many of us are dehydrated— which causes tiredness, low energy, and headaches. It’s common to mistake thirst for hunger, so staying well hydrated will also help you make healthier food choices. A good rule to follow is to drink half your weight in water. For example if one weighs 150 pounds drink at least 75 ounces of water and more, is better!

In a nutshell avoid all meat (including fish), dairy, eggs; also oils/fats and processed foods. Eat freely: fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains. Limit lightly-processed whole foods.
